The coveted collectors charm is signed Cartier by Jean Dinh Van. Dinh Van trained and worked at Cartier for about ten years, roughly the mid-1950s. He's considered a genuine revolutionary in postwar jewelry. He broke from the ornate, precious-stone-heavy tradition he learned at Cartier and pioneered a stripped-down, modernist aesthetic — jewelry meant to be worn every day rather than locked in a safe.
